Open-source material can be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or deliberately misleading. We will get things wrong. When we do, the correction belongs on the record where anyone can see it — not quietly edited into the original.
Our correction policy
- Corrections are public. Substantive errors are logged here with the date, what was wrong, and what it was changed to. The corrected piece carries a note pointing back to this log.
- Originals are not silently rewritten. Where a published claim changes materially, the change is visible rather than absorbed.
- Typographical fixes are not logged. Spelling, formatting, and broken links are repaired without an entry, because logging them would bury the corrections that matter.
- Withdrawals are marked, not deleted. If a finding cannot be supported, the piece is retracted with an explanation and left in place.
- Reports get an answer. Anyone who reports an error is told the outcome, including when we conclude no correction is needed and why.

Report an error or a concern
Our compliance statement invites readers to raise factual errors, privacy concerns, copyright issues, and other compliance matters. Anything raised is reviewed, and you will be told the outcome.
The more precisely you can point at the problem, the faster it is resolved. Where possible, include which piece it concerns, the specific passage, what you believe to be correct, and any source supporting that.
